New Year, New Changes for Hoteliers

Many exciting changes are expected to happen within the Hospitality Industry this year. America is finally coming out of its recession, which means people are able to travel more often. Get ready, hoteliers! Hotel Online discussed some of the major technological changes 2015 will bring the industry in one of their latest articles.

The Age of Smartphones
Mobile technology is taking the world by storm; whether it be in the form of a smartphone or a tablet. The Internet serves as a place for consumers to quickly and easily make transactions anytime, anywhere. Hotels are becoming more in-tune with this, providing online check-in and check-out services for their guests. It’s also expected that hotels will begin creating apps which means meeting guests needs will be even easier for both parties.

The Rise of Specialty Hotels
With the boost in economy and people traveling more, hotels that offer yoga and/or spa services should start to see a hefty increase in bookings. For many people, combining their favorite interests with their travel is important. Specialty hotels are also becoming a prime destination point for the younger generation.

Wifi For All
Along with mobile devices comes Wifi. People want to be able to surf the web as quickly as possible, wherever they are and whenever they want. It is expected that hotels around the world will amp up their Wifi services to ensure guests’ needs are met.

Social Media Spotlight
Social Media has been a huge form of communication for millions of people for several years now. Facebook and Twitter are often used as outlets to search for information as well. Hotels are updating their social media pages regularly to ensure that potential guests can find them easily if they’re searched. If a guest has a great experience with a hotel, they’re likely to share it with their followers via social media outlets.
